PacifiCan RAII in BC: October 2026 intake guide
BC’s Regional Artificial Intelligence Initiative is accepting business applications until November 23, 2026 at noon Pacific time.
Current business intake
PacifiCan’s page, updated October 21, 2026, lists repayable business contributions of $200,000–$5 million, up to 50% of eligible project costs. The current intake is for funding beginning in 2026–27 and closes at 12:00 pm Pacific on November 23, 2026. Confirm the live status before submitting.
Adoption and commercialization have different gates
For adoption, the page lists incorporated businesses operating in BC for at least three years, with 5–500 full-time-equivalent employees. For commercialization, it lists at least one year of BC operations and 1–500 FTEs. The initiative assesses priorities, economic benefits, delivery capacity, other funding and market demand. Eligibility does not guarantee selection.
RAII means Regional Artificial Intelligence Initiative. It is not an aerospace-only program. A routine website or inexpensive chatbot purchase should not be treated as a fit simply because it contains AI; the project must meet the initiative’s requirements and scale.
Prepare the project case
- Explain whether you are adopting AI in operations or commercializing an AI product.
- Show the baseline, expected productivity or commercial benefit, milestones and management capacity.
- Identify project costs and confirmed financing for the share PacifiCan will not fund.
- Disclose other assistance and ask which spending dates, cost categories and repayment terms apply.
- Read the official funding overview, eligibility and application instructions before committing expenditure.
PacifiCan says future intakes will be available for investments starting after April 1, 2027, including SMEs and not-for-profits. Interested not-for-profits can contact the agency. Do not treat a future intake as an approved allocation. For a smaller digital project, compare LIFT or financing from your existing lender.
